Saturday, July 19, 2014. 6:30 PM:
Today’ gospel is a continuation of Jesus’ preferred mode of teaching, the parable. In Matt 13:1-23 Jesus teaches the parables of the mustard seed and the weeds and the wheat. Fr. Luis gave a thought provoking sermon on one of the most difficult issues in theology: the presence of evil, presented in the metaphor of the weeds among the wheat. Come to the 9:00 AM Mass at St. Elizabeth’s Outdoor Church, Guerneville or the 11:00 AM Mass at St. Colman’s Outdoor Church in Cazadero! It’s one of his best sermons!
We have a few reminders:
The St. Colman’s Salad Luncheon is Tuesday at noon at the Volunteer Fire House in Cazadero. Tickets are $15.00 and the food is delicious!
AND the fabulous MONTE RIO VARIETY SHOW is Thursday night starting at six o’clock. This is always an outstanding evening which benefits St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Monte Rio School and Monte Rio Fire Services Foundation. Contact Michelle McDonnell for tickets at 707-486-1739. This year they are selling wonderful warm fleece vests with the original date of this event – 1911 – and the name MONTE RIO VARIETY SHOW on the left side – priced at $25.00. They also have a wonderful Fender 60th Anniversary Classic Player Statocaster Guitar raffle. Tickets are $5.00. It’s a wonderful event and we are so grateful for the Bohemians and all who put it on!
