Who’s ready for Summer and Outdoor Mass?

To help us get through this quarantine, we have been dreaming about the outdoor church! We have new linens ready for the 4th of July and a new set of serving cake plates and trays! It will be such a joy to see each other again!

We pray that our shelter in place limitations will be over by July 4th. We hope to enjoy entire a beautiful 4th of July Sunday outdoor mass on Sunday, July 5, 2020 – God willing!

We thank Rick De Carly and Salvatore (sorry, don’t have last name) who have again mowed the upper portion of the outdoor church. It looks so beautiful, especially now that the debris pile has been burned and removed. We are also grateful to Von Renner Construction for loaning equipment, and to the Russian River Fire and Monte Rio Fire Districts for assistance in getting permits for burning.

More new linens and our “shabby chic” service set of cake plates and serving trays for our sweets and savories served by the St. Elizabeth Hospitality Ministry. We invite you to join the ministry to serve, bring sweets and/or savories, or help clean up after the 9:00 AM mass. Mass is held in the outdoor church from July 4th through Labor Day.

The purpose of the St. Elizabeth Hospitality Ministry is to welcome visitors and parishioners at St. Elizabeth, and to encourage fellowship. As our volunteers are not available every Sunday, we are always eager to welcome new volunteers who can participate. It’s really fun and a great way to make new friends and welcome guests. We serve about 40 people at outdoor mass, and about 60 to 80 at the July l4th and Labor Day masses. The service is free and a donation vase helps cover expenses. Email 3churchesecc@gmail.com if you would like to help out. Here’s the list of chores needed:

  1. Set up between 8:30 and 9:55 – help set up the linens and coffee makers, put out food, floral and other decorations
  2. Sweets and Savories – home made or store bought welcome!
  3. Cleanup: 10:30 to 11:00 Wash coffee makers store in St. Hubert’s Hall, pack up left overs, clean serving utensiles.

Prayers for health and safety of our parishioners and the entire world and hoping for the end of the pandemic!

Coffee after mass is a great opportunity to get to know fellow parishioners and to welcome visitors! Praying the pandemic will be over soon!

There are 10 Sundays this summer season in the outdoor church. Please email us which Sundays you can help and which services you can provide. Thank you!
