MARCH 2019: THE RUSSIAN RIVER FOOD PANTRY IS TEMPORARILY LOCATED AT ST. HUBERT’S HALL (on Fourth Street behind the Fire Station) DUE TO FLOOD DAMAGE AT THE COMMUNITY CHURCH.
We are very grateful to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for donating a freezer and refrigerator for St. Hubert’s Hall. Here is a clip from the recent meeting of St. Vincent de Paul Conference Liasons Jack Tolin and Bill Cole with Guerneville Conference April 13, 2019.
The Russian River Food Pantry is a joint effort by the St. Vincent de Paul Society Guerneville Chapter, the Salvation Army, and Guerneville Community Church. Food is distributed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. On Thanksgiving there is a special food giveaway sponsored by the Salvation Army and on Christmas St. Vincent de Paul hosts the giveaway.
Volunteer Kathleen Sheridan, NP, kindly provided photos from this year’s Christmas giveaway (2018). Above are the beautiful, colorful and BIG boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables and treats for our families.
Each family receives a prepackaged bag of groceries, a large box from Mike’s Truck Garden in Fulton, and in addition can select additional goodies such as this colorful cake.
We are thankful to
- Safeway Feed the Need
- Mike’s Truck Garden
- Willy Bird Turkey
- Redwood Empire Food Bank.
We hope you will consider volunteering with this effort, it’s a wonderful program and a great way to give back to the community!
